Ages 2-5 Years Old
Through movement games, stories and songs, little ones will have a chance to learn more about how their bodies can move, as they explore their from the fun perspective of dance. Classes are approached with a no pressure feel to help develop a love of movement in your young child with a fun and energetic class. At this age we develop and work on students’ attention spans and keep them happily engaged while learning to translate music to movement. These classes incorporate a high level of praise to promote a strong sense of accomplishment.
Ages 6-8 Years Old
For this age we start to introduce children to the basics of any given dance styles. In these classes we introduce the basics in Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Tumbling, Hip Hop and Lyrical. As the dancer progresses and gains some experience, the classes will focus more on developing proper alignment, technique and discipline. They will also start to learn and use dance terminology. This age group starts to focus more on concentration, alignment, proper execution of movement, memorization, and independence through sequential tasking.
Ages 9-12 Years Old
We offer all disciplines including Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Tumbling, Hip Hop, Contemporary and Lyrical for the beginner to advanced dancer. At this age we focus on more advanced stretching and strengthening exercises. In Ballet, barre work is focused on a greater emphasis on vocabulary and terminology. In Jazz, musicality continues to be emphasized along with balance and coordination through the strengthening of the body core. Center floor work is done with continued focus on the positions of the arms, legs and feet using classical ballet vocabulary.
Ages 13 & Up
At this age we offer beginning through advanced classes in Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Tumbling, Hip Hop, Contemporary and Lyrical classes. Stretching and strengthening exercises are given, barre work is continued with a heavier emphasis on vocabulary and French terminology. Musicality continues to be emphasized along with balance and coordination through the strengthening of the body core.
